Schueler Farms beef is grass fed and finished. Absolutely no antibiotics, hormones and non-GMO. Schueler Farms is located south of Willmar, MN. Our beef is born and nurtured in the hills of Starbuck, MN; by Retired Pastor Don Berheim and his wife Helen who built their retirement home and ranch from scratch. They selected the Lowline Angus as their beef breed to populate their ranch. After nine months or so the cattle are bought and moved to Svea, MN south of Willmar. Schueler Farms; a former dairy farm, now commercial hay farm, runs the cattle on their pasture all summer long. Schueler Farms has a good supply of high energy hay to feed them during the winter. We know hay; and by giving mother nature time to mature the animal in it’s own good time the cattle will finish prime with good marbling. Lowline Angus is a breed that was developed in Australia starting in the 1930’s by carefully selecting breeding stock that were most productive when eating only grass. They first arrived in America in the mid 1990’s. The breed did get smaller than their European Angus cousins, thus their finished weight is about ¾ that of the conventional Angus; but they maintained the Angus quality with lots of prime meat. |
